Pilgrim Fell In Nallah Probably Due To Altitude Sickness, Perplexity: Senior Official

Srinagar : Authorities on Saturday launched a massive rescue operation to trace out a pilgrim who is suspected to have fallen in a nallah (rivulet) near Railpathri along the Baltal route to the ongoing Amarnathji Yatra.

Official sources told GNS that the rescue operation is being carried out jointly by Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) of JKAP, SDRF, ITBP and local police to find out the missing Yatri namely Surinder Pal Arora son of Gain Chand Arora of Ludhiana.
Confirming it, a senior police officer told GNS that the yatri would probably have fallen in the water body due to “altitude sickness and perplexity”.
“The massive rescue operation is underway and hopefully the Yatri will be found very soon,” the officer added. (GNS)
