Fire Destroys Home of Seven in Central Kashmir’s Budgam

Budgam, July 1,: A residential house was destroyed in a late-night fire incident in the Lassipora area of Beerwah, Budgam, rendering a family of seven homeless.

The blaze engulfed the home of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, causing extensive damage to the structure and all household belongings. Despite the timely response of local residents and youth who made desperate attempts to douse the flames, the house was reduced to ashes.

Locals voiced concern over the lack of a nearby fire emergency service. They urged the Budgam District Administration to provide immediate relief and initiate steps for the rehabilitation of the displaced family.

Locals have appealed for the establishment of a fire station in the vicinity to avoid similar losses in the future.

“The affected family is in urgent need of temporary shelter, clothing, food, and other necessities. We appeal to the district administration to assist in cash and kind to the fire victims,” the locals said. KNT
