LG launches IEC campaign, innovative RDD initiatives at Baltal for a ‘sustainable, zero-waste  pilgrimage of Amarnath Yatra’

Sonamarg, June 30: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday launched a comprehensive IEC campaign and various initiatives of the Rural Development Department (RDD) to make this year’s Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra cleaner and more eco-friendly.

These efforts are aimed at making the pilgrimage sustainable and free from waste for the lakhs of devotees expected this year.

“During my visit to Baltal Base Camp today, I launched a comprehensive IEC campaign and various innovative initiatives of the Rural Development Department for a sustainable and Zero-Waste pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji,”LG Mqanoj Sinha said, as per news agency KINS.

The new initiatives include cleanliness drives led by local communities, setting up eco-friendly facilities, educating pilgrims on responsible behavior, and putting waste management systems in place at key points.

LG called on everyone involved to work together to protect the beautiful Himalayan environment.(KINS)
