Officials told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the mishap occurred around 5:30 AM when the tempo traveller, which was on its way from Rajouri town to Jammu, crashed into a mini goods vehicle. The impact was so intense that the tempo was left completely mangled, indicating the severity of the collision.

The two women who lost their lives in the accident have been identified as 26-year-old Insha Fatima of Khotra and 50-year-old Farzand Begum of Fatehpur. According to officials, both women died on the spot.
