Jammu Police Arrests Man with Sharp Weapons in R.S. Pura; Case Registered Under Arms Act

Jammu, June 23:In a continued crackdown on criminal elements, Jammu Police apprehended a man in the R.S. Pura area for possessing dangerous sharp-edged weapons. The accused, identified as Jasbinder Singh alias Sonu, son of Ghar Singh and a resident of Shamka, R.S. Pura, was found in possession of two sharp-edged TOKAs (traditional cleavers) and a motorcycle chain, both of which can be used as deadly weapons.

According to a police spokesperson, acting on specific inputs and as part of an intensified campaign against anti-social elements, the police team carried out a swift operation and successfully arrested the individual. The weapons were seized on the spot during the arrest.

A case has been formally registered under FIR No. 125/2025 at Police Station R.S. Pura, invoking relevant sections of the Arms Act (Section 4/25). The accused is currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the weapons were meant for any criminal activity or part of a larger network.

Meanwhile, the local population has expressed appreciation for the prompt action taken by the police, praising their commitment to maintaining law and order in the area.

This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of Jammu Police to clamp down on the illegal possession of arms and to ensure public safety across the region.
