78th International Olympic day celebration

Srinagar 23rd June,: On the occasion of the 78th International Olympic Day, Jammu and Kashmir water sports Kayaking and Canoeing Association successfully organized a Canoe Marathon race and Run for peace at the Pokhribal Water Sports Club.
The event celebrated the true spirit of Olympism, bringing together athletes and water sports enthusiasts to promote teamwork, endurance, and sportsmanship, while showcasing the incredible potential of water sports in the region. The water sports players delivered a thrilling, high-energy contest demonstrating skill, speed, and true sporting spirit while captivating spectators with their talent and determination.

For her incessant support and invaluable guidance to budding athletes, the Water Sports Association expressed heartfelt gratitude to renowned water sports player Bilquis Mir, who recently earned the historic distinction of becoming the first Indian woman to serve as a jury member at the Olympics.

Water sports is the most medal-winning discipline in Jammu & Kashmir so far. Besides providing a strong national and international platform for deserving athletes, we also focus on guiding the youth of J&K away from the menace of drugs by engaging them in water sports activities. The Water Sports Association remains fully committed to working in the best interests of the nation and ensuring the growth, well-being, and success of our athletes.
