Search Operation Launched to Trace Missing Boy Feared Drowned in Jhelum

Srinagar, May 23, KNT: A search and rescue operation was launched on Friday in the Jhelum River at Noorbagh area of Srinagar to trace a missing boy feared to have drowned.

According to officials, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) began combing the river to locate Iniyat Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Palpora Noorbagh, who has been missing since Thursday.

Authorities suspect that the boy may have accidentally fallen into the river. Rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate and retrieve the body. [KNT]
