Poonch, J&K – May 21:Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, visited Poonch today to meet the grieving families affected by the recent unprovoked shelling by Pakistan. Expressing solidarity with the victims, the LG announced key relief measures, including government jobs for one member of each affected family across Jammu and Kashmir.
“At Poonch, met grieving family members who lost their loved ones due to unprovoked shelling by Pakistan. One member from families of martyred civilians across J&K will be provided a Govt job. Ex-gratia & reliefs were provided & GoI is committed for further necessary assistance,” Sinha posted on X (formerly Twitter).
He reiterated that the rehabilitation of affected families remains his top priority and added that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, is working on a comprehensive plan for their proper rehabilitation.
During his visit, LG Sinha also interacted with Army personnel involved in ‘Operation Sindoor’, praising their gallantry and professionalism. “Salute to the brave soldiers of Army for their outstanding courage and gallantry in ‘Operation Sindoor’. During my interaction with the soldiers in Poonch, I recalled their invincible power, which ensured a decisive victory for Bharat,” he stated.
Calling the operation a “living example of India’s military and strategic might,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked that the action had “drawn a new red line.” He added, “In just 23 minutes, India had brought the masters of Pakistani terrorists to their knees and the next time if they raise their eyes towards Mother India, not a single area of theirs would remain untouched by punishment.”
‘Operation Sindoor’ has been widely hailed as a strong counter-response, showcasing India’s readiness and resolve in safeguarding its territorial sovereignty.
