Suspicious Movement Triggers Search Operations in Reasi and Kathua Districts

Jammu, May 15,: Security forces have launched massive search operations in forested areas of Reasi and Kathua districts in Jammu and Kashmir after local residents reported sightings of suspected individuals, officials said on Thursday.

In Reasi’s Bhaga area, a joint team of police, Army, and paramilitary personnel began combing operations late Wednesday night after a woman alerted authorities about two suspicious persons seen near the forest. Aerial surveillance is also being used to track any movement in the rugged terrain.

Simultaneously, a similar operation continued for the second day in the Gaghwal area of Kathua district. This followed a report from a local woman who claimed that two individuals in army uniforms came to her house asking for water, stating they were heading back to their “camp.”

Officials said all efforts are being made to ensure the safety of civilians and track down the suspects. Forces remain on high alert across both districts, and residents have been urged to stay vigilant and report any unusual activity. [KNT]
