Police Arrest 2 Drug Peddlers in Baramulla; Contraband Substance Recovered

Baramulla,14 May: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party from Police Station Kunzer headed by SHO PS Kunzer at a checkpoint established at Hardbani Kunzer Bridge, intercepted two persons identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Waza son of Mohd Ramzan Waza resident of Mamoosa Pattan and Abdul Qayoom Parra son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Parra resident of Reram Kunzer. During the search, 26 grams of contraband and rupees 4000/- in cash were recovered from Mushtaq Ahmad Waza and 20 grams of a contraband Charas-like substance were recovered from Abdul Qayoom Parra. Both individuals have been arrested.

Accordingly, a case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kunzer, and further investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with the police in curbing the menace of drugs from society. We reassure community members that the police will act tough against criminals as per the law.
