Pakistan Returns Captured BSF Jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw to India

Srinagar, May 14: Pakistan on Tuesday handed over Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw to Indian authorities at the Joint Check Post (JCP) in Attari. Shaw had been captured by Pakistan Rangers on April 23 after reportedly crossing the border under unclear circumstances.

The repatriation took place at 10:30 am in a flag meeting between BSF and Pakistan Rangers. Officials from both sides were present during the handover, which marks a rare moment of cooperation amidst persistent border tensions.

The BSF has initiated an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances under which Shaw crossed over into Pakistani territory.
