Schools Reopen Across Kashmir from May 13, Except Border Areas: DSEK

Srinagar : All schools across Kashmir Valley will reopen on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after remaining closed due to heightened India-Pakistan tensions.

However, schools in the border districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Gurez sub-division of Bandipora will remain shut until further orders.

Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr. G.N. Itoo, confirmed the development while speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS). “All schools shall reopen tomorrow on 13th of May 2025, except in the border districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Gurez sub-division of Bandipora,” Dr. Itoo told KNS.

The earlier closure was ordered as a precautionary measure due to exchange of fire by India and Pakistan armies.
