Cross-LoC Firing Reported Across Multiple Sectors in J&K; Indian Army Responds

Srinagar, May 2,: Several sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a flare-up late Thursday night as Pakistani Army posts reportedly opened unprovoked small arms fire across multiple locations, including Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Naushera, and Akhnoor.

According to the Indian Army, the firing began during the night of May 1-2 and targeted forward positions on the Indian side of the LoC. No casualties or material damage were reported at the time of filing this report.

In response, Indian troops retaliated in what officials described as a “calibrated and proportionate” manner. The army said that the situation along the LoC is being closely monitored, with heightened vigilance in place across affected sectors. [KNT]
