Srinagar, May 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has formally lodged an FIR after a fake website link showing fabricated results for Class 12 went viral on social media, causing confusion and distress among students.

According to officials, unidentified individuals created a fraudulent website mimicking the official JKBOSE portal. The fake link, which falsely displayed what it claimed to be the Class 12 results, quickly circulated online, prompting widespread panic among students and parents.

Confirming the development, Secretary JKBOSE talking to News Agency said an FIR has been registered against the perpetrators.

โ€œWe have taken serious note of the incident and lodged a formal complaint with the police. Strict action will be taken against those responsible for creating and circulating the fake website,โ€ the official said.

The board has urged students and guardians to rely only on the official JKBOSE website for any updates.

The cyber wing of the police is now investigating the source of the fake link and attempting to identify those behind the fraudulent activity.
