Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urges centre to provide special financial aid package for weather calamity victims

Srinagar, April : Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday called on the central government to extend a special financial aid package to support victims of the recent extreme weather conditions, which claimed at least five lives and caused widespread damage to property and crops across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, with Ramban district being the worst affected.

Mr Bukhari wrote on his X handle: “Given the scale of destruction — including the tragic loss of five human lives, extensive damage to properties, vehicles, and crops— due to the recent weather calamity, it is imperative that the Union government provide a special financial aid package to support and compensate the victims.”

He added, “While Ramban is the worst hit, the scale of destruction and losses extends across several areas in Jammu and the Valley. It is a humanitarian crisis that demands immediate and meaningful intervention by the centre.”

“Timely and substantial assistance from the Centre can help restore hope, and stability to those affected,” the post further reads.
