CPIM Passes Resolution Against Waqf Amendment Bill, Tarigami Urges Fair Treatment

Srinagar: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has passed a resolution against the Waqf Amendment Bill, expressing concern over its impact on the management of Muslim religious affairs.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, senior CPIM leader M Y Tarigami said, “Muslims should not be targeted by those at the helm of affairs.
All other religions are managing their religious affairs freely, so why single out Muslims?”
Tarigami urged the government to ensure that the rights of all religious communities are respected equally, and highlighted the importance of safeguarding the autonomy of institutions that manage religious assets. (KNS)
