Srinagar: Tremors were felt across the Kashmir Valley on Saturday afternoon following an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 that struck Pakistan.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS), on the X platform said the earthquake occurred at 1:00:55 PM IST, with its epicentre located at latitude 33.63°N and longitude 72.46°E, near Pakistan. The quake was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres.
The tremors were felt in many areas of the Kashmir Valley. While the shaking caused alarm, no reports of damage have been received.
