Girl jumps in Jhelum in Srinagar’s Rajbagh, rescued

Srinagar: A girl jumped in the river Jhelum from Abdullah bridge in the Rajbagh area of Srinagar on Monday evening, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that soon after the incident a rescue operation was launched to trace out the girl.

He said that after strenuous efforts by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the girl was rescued and immediately shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment, where her condition is said to be stable.

Police have initiated investigation to ascertained as to why the girl took this extreme step—(KNO)
