SMC observes ‘World Water Day’ with Pledge Ceremonies

Srinagar: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) marked ‘World Water Day’ with pledge ceremonies across all municipal wards, highlighting the importance of water conservation.

The main event was held at the SMC Central Office, where Joint Commissioner, Syed Abul Qasim led the proceedings.

In his address, Joint Commissioner Abdul Qasim stressed the urgent need for responsible water use. He stated, “Water is a precious resource, and its conservation is our collective responsibility. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting it for future generations.”

Officials and staff across all municipal wards actively participated, taking a pledge to promote water conservation practices and raise awareness among residents.

SMC urged all citizens to adopt simple water-saving measures, such as fixing leaks, reducing wastage, and using water efficiently in daily activities.

“Together, we can ensure a sustainable and water-secure future for Srinagar,” concluded the Joint Commissioner.
