Illegal constructions in Pahalgam

J&K says notices issued to 269 constructions for deviations

Jammu: The Jammu & Kashmir Government on Thursday said 269 notices have been issued for deviations in constructions in the  areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA).

In a written response to question of MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), about total number of illegal and unauthorized constructions in Pahalgam, Chief Minister Omar, Abdullah, who also serves as minister of Tourism Department, said that PDA has recently issued notices to 269 deviations as per the permissions issued by the BOCA of the Authority.

“However, the majority of these include PMAY and residential houses of locals that fall within the jurisdictions of the concerned Authority,” the minister said.

The minister said that Pahalgam Development Authority is the nodal office dealing with checking of deviations, illegal and unauthorized constructions, if any, raised within the jurisdiction of notified areas PDA and carries out demolition drives whenever required—(KNO)
