Fish Farm allegedly poisoned in Heff Shopian, farmer faces loses worth lakhs

Shopian: In an act of enmity in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, the miscreants caused a loss of lakhs of rupees to a fish farmer on Thursday by allegedly poisoning his fish farm.

Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that some unknown persons have thrown poisonous substances in a fish farm at Heff village of Zainapora hamlet in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, leaving around 7000 fishes dead.

The farm belongs to Firdous Ahmad Lone, son of Ab Majeed Lone of Heff Zainapora.

The victim family along with their relatives have demanded investigation in this case and strict action against the persons involved in this mischief.

They said that 7000 fish are worth lakhs and the matter must be investigated on a priority basis.

An official said that prima facie it seems an act of mischief committed by someone on the basis of personal animosity with a design to cause major financial losses to the owner.

He, however, said that other angles are also being looked into and investigation in this regard is going on—(KNO)
