Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia Strongly Condemns Deputy CM’s Remarks on Maharaja Hari Singh

Calls for Respect and Recognition of Maharaja’s Contributions
Jammu: In an emotionally charged and hastily convened press conference at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, party spokesperson Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia expressed strong disapproval of the remarks made by the Deputy Chief Minister regarding Maharaja Hari Singh.
Calling the comments unjustified and inappropriate, Dr. Jasrotia categorically condemned any attempt to undermine the legacy of the former ruler of Jammu & Kashmir.
Surinder Singh Gilli and Sanjay Bakshi, BJP leaders, were also present in the press conference.
Addressing the media, Dr. Jasrotia stated, “Maharaja Hari Singh was not just a ruler but a visionary leader whose contributions to the socio-economic and infrastructural development of Jammu & Kashmir remain unparalleled. His governance was marked by progressive reforms, modernization efforts, and an unwavering commitment to justice and secularism. Any attempt to tarnish his legacy is unacceptable.”
Dr. Jasrotia went on to highlight Maharaja Hari Singh’s monumental contributions, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and administration. He credited the former ruler with introducing progressive laws that safeguarded the rights of marginalized communities and promoted an inclusive society. Additionally, he underscored Maharaja Hari Singh’s secular outlook, which ensured harmony among diverse communities in the region.
Expressing his disappointment, Dr. Jasrotia urged political leaders to exercise caution and responsibility when commenting on historical figures. He stressed the importance of acknowledging the truth of history and respecting those who played a pivotal role in shaping the region.
“Maharaja Hari Singh’s dedication to his people is undeniable. Instead of making unwarranted statements, leaders should recognize and honor his legacy. History should be spoken of with accuracy, respect, and a sense of responsibility,” he added.
Dr. Jasrotia further called upon the Deputy CM to retract his remarks and issue a clarification, stating that such comments only create unnecessary controversy and hurt public sentiments. He reaffirmed his party’s stance in upholding the contributions of great leaders and ensuring that their legacy remains untarnished.
“13 july will remain traitor day & a black day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.
The press conference concluded with a strong appeal to the people of Jammu & Kashmir to continue valuing the historical significance of Maharaja Hari Singh and to stand united in preserving the truth of his contributions to the region.
