Srinagar : The passing of Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, the father-in-law of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has led to an outpouring of heartfelt condolences from political leaders, religious figures, and members of the public.
Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah shared his condolences on X, stating, “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Sorry to hear about the demise of Dr. Sibtain Masoodi Sb, father-in-law of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. May Allah grant the highest place in Jannat to Dr. Masoodi. My condolences to the Mirwaiz and his loved ones. Dr. Sibtain Masoodi Sb was also the brother of my senior colleague @masoodi_hasnain. I send my heartfelt condolences to Justice (retd.) Masoodi Sb & his family.”
Altaf Bukhari, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), expressed his deepest sympathies on X, saying, “My heartfelt condolences to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sahib on the passing of his father-in-law, Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, who departed for his heavenly abode late last night. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioon. May the Almighty Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give patience to the bereaved family to bear the pain of this profound loss.”
Mehbooba Mufti, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) expressed on X, “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Mirwaiz Sahab’s father-in-law, Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi Sahab. Condolences to the bereaved family at this difficult hour.”
Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir ul Islam Farooqi, in a statement also offered his condolences, stating, “Sad to know about the demise of the father-in-law of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sahib, Jenab Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi. My condolences to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other family members. Also, on behalf of the MPL Board, I extend condolences to Molvi Umar Farooq and other family members of Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi.”
