Property Worth 1 Crore Attached Under NDPS Act In Anantnag: Police

Anantnag: Police on Thursday said that they have attached property worth one crore under NDPS Act in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that in a decisive action against Drug trafficking and its financial networks, Anantnag Police has attached a double-storey under-construction residential house belonging to Abdul Majeed Bhat, son-in-law of Mohammad Ahsan Ganaie, resident of Cheenigund, Srigufwara. The property, spread over 1 Kanal of land and valued at ₹1 crore, has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, as it has been linked to proceeds from drug trafficking.

The police spokesman further stated that, the accused is involved in a major narcotics case registered under FIR No. 68/2021 at Police Station Srigufwara, wherein a substantial quantity of contraband substances was recovered.

This action highlights Anantnag Police’s firm commitment to combating the drug menace and dismantling the financial networks sustaining illegal narcotics trade. By taking stringent measures, the police aim to deter criminal activities and safeguard society from the devastating impact of drug abuse, he said.

Anantnag Police urges citizens to support their efforts in building a drug-free society and reaffirms its resolve to take strict legal action against those engaged in drug-related crimes, reads the statement.(GNS)
