Police arrests drug peddler in Srinagar, Narcotics recovered

Srinagar: Srinagar Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered narcotic substance from his possession.

In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a police official said that a Police team of Srinagar Police at a checkpoint established at General Road Allochibagh Bund near Sacred Mission School, intercepted a suspicious person who after noticing the police team tried to flee but was apprehended tactfully.

During the search, a substantial quantity of contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Majid Shafi Najar @ Choota Chaama son of Mohammad Shafi Najar resident of Chan Mohalla Allochibagh Srinagar.

Meanwhile a case vide FIR No.03/2025 under NDPS Act has been registered in PS Shergarhi and investigation has been initiated.
