Anantnag Police Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Peddlers, Seizes Large Quantities of Narcotics

Anantnag : Anantnag Police continuing its war against Drug menace arrested two drug peddlers and recovered narcotic substance from their possession.
Police Station Mattan received a specific information through reliable sources that one person namely Farooq Ahmad Kumar S/O Mohd Subhan Kumar R/O Khul Chohar Mattan has indulged in peddling of narcotic substances and accordingly has hoarded a large quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house. Accordingly a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act got registered in Police station Mattan and investigation taken up. On receipt of this information, a team comprising of Anantnag Police and Executive Magistrate concerned was constituted, who carried out the search of the said house. During search about 10 KGs of Charas powder and cash of Rs. 216650 was recovered from the said house. The owner of the said house was arrested and contraband seized. Further investigation in the instant case continues.
Additionally, Police Party from Police Station Pahalgam laid down a naka at Langabal Pahalgam and apprehended one person Shahrukh Ahmad Sheikh S/O Mohd Ramzan Sheikh R/O Sheikh Mohalla Sallar and recovered 120 grams of Charas from his possession. In this regard a case was registered at Police station Pahalgam, accused was arrested and contraband seized.
Anantnag Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. The public is urged to continue supporting the efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities.
