Youth Crushed to Death by Truck in Jammu; Police File ‘Hit and Run’ Case

Jammu: A  road accident claimed the life of a young biker after he was crushed by a speeding truck at New Plot road in Jammu on Monday morning.
The police sources said that the truck, which was loaded with cement, hit the biker, killing him on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Akshay Kumar, a resident of Bhadarwah who was currently staying with his relatives in Chinore.
Following the accident, the driver of the truck fled from the scene, leaving behind chaos and a stranded traffic movement for over an hour. The incident led to a massive traffic jam, causing inconvenience to commuters.
The Bakshi Nagar Police Station has registered a case and launched an investigation to track down the absconding driver. [KNT]
