Three Hardcore Criminals/OGWs Booked Under Public Safety Act In Kathua: Police

Jammu: Police said that they have booked three Hardcore criminals/Over Ground Workers under PSA in  Kathua district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that they apprehended 03 Hardcore Criminals/OGW’s against whom many FIR’s registered at PS Billawar and booked under Public Safety Act 1978( PSA).

The spokesman further stated that on 31st January Police teams of PS Billawar and PP Ramkot  apprehended three Hardcore Criminals /OGW’s namely Mohd Rafiq S/o Kalu Khan R/o Ghar Malti, Ravinder Kumar @Shanu S/o Sudesh Kumar R/o Dadwara, Amrik Chand @Amrku S/o Kalu Ram R/o Dharamkot Tehsil Billawar District Kathua who are hardcore Criminals/OGW’s  involved  in various illegal activities(from Past Few Years) and cases registered at PS Billawar.

In order to prevent the illegal activities within the district,  “Dossier” were  prepared against the accused persons and sent to the District Magistrate Kathua for their detention under Public Safety Act- 1978 (PSA), he said.

Accordingly District Magistrate Kathua issued a detention warrant against  the accused person under the Public Safety Act 1978, he said.

Accordingly, the warrant have been executed today and they have been lodged in District  Jail Jammu/Rajouri/Udhampur respectively to curtail their illegal activities.
Locals of the Kathua district have appreciated this initiative of J&K Police Kathua, reads the statement.(GNS)
