PoJK Resident Who Crossed LoC in Poonch Last Week Repatriated

Poonch:  A week after a 30-year-old man from PoJK, apparently mentally challenged, was apprehended along Line of Control in Poonch district was on Friday repatriated, officials said.

They told GNS that the individual, Mohammad Faiz Yasir, was handed over to the authorities  at Chakan Da Bagh gate.

Yasir had been apprehended by a joint team of Army and Police from a house in Salhotri village of the mountainous district on January 25 night. Actually they said, the man was locked in the house by a particular family before informing the army and Police in this regard.

Initially, they said, the man was questioned by the army in the camp and later shifted to Police Station Poonch. Officials privy to it also disclosed to GNS that a hotline message had been received by army from Pakistan counterparts in this regard. (GNS)
