Jammu: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, was honored with the Maharaja Hari Singh Award at the ‘Maharaja Hari Singh Peace and Harmony Award 2024-25’ ceremony held at Satyam Resort, Jammu, today.
In his address, as per news agency KINS, LG Sinha paid tribute to the Late Devender Singh Rana, who was also honored at the event.
He commended Rana’s efforts in promoting peace and harmony, emphasizing that his contributions would always be remembered.
The LG spoke about Maharaja Hari Singh’s pivotal role in the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India. Describing the Maharaja as a visionary leader, he highlighted how his leadership ensured that J&K became an inseparable part of the nation.
He also discussed India’s remarkable progress, noting that the country now contributes 15% to the global GDP. LG Sinha expressed confidence in realizing the nation’s vision for 2047, marking 100 years of India’s independence.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to peace, the Lieutenant Governor assured that separatist forces and disruptive elements would not be allowed to disturb harmony in the region.(KINS)
