KVIB Srinagar organizes awareness camp at Panzinara

Srinagar: The District Office Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Srinagar today organized an awareness camp cum interaction program at Panzinara to sensitize the general public about the various government schemes.

The Program was attended by Deputy CEO KVIB, Lead District Manager Srinagar, Director RSETI, Officers of Line Departments, Branch Heads of various Banks and other stakeholders.

The event also witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community, entrepreneurs, and aspiring businesspersons.

The camp aimed to educate participants about the wide range of opportunities available under the flagship programs of KVIB, including the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Jammu & Kashmir Rural employment Generation Program (JKREGP) designed to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship in urban as well as rural areas.

Addressing the gathering, KVIB officials emphasized the importance of utilizing these schemes to boost local industries and empower communities. The session included detailed presentations about the financial assistance, subsidies, and technical support provided under these schemes to facilitate the establishment of small and medium enterprises.

 It was informed that in the Qammarwari area under PMEGP scheme District Office KVIB Srinagar has got sanctioned 800 number of cases involving Margin Money of Rs 1535.95 lacs.

Besides, 286 cases involving Margin Money of Rs 585.97 lacs for generating Employment among 1716 persons were also disbursed.

 Moreover, it was informed that in the Qammarwari Block under the JKREGP scheme, District Office KVIB Srinagar has sponsored 27 number of cases involving Margin Money of Rs 87.32 lacs and has disbursed 15 number of cases involving Margin Money of Rs 40.95 lacs generating employment among 120 number of persons.

During the event, special emphasis was laid on the production of eco-friendly products and leveraging traditional crafts to enhance economic sustainability. Participants were also guided on the application process, eligibility criteria, and necessary documentation required to avail  these benefits.

The event featured interactive sessions during which experts addressed queries and provided personalized consultations to attendees.

 Moreover, success stories of beneficiaries who have established thriving businesses under KVIB schemes were also shared to inspire and motivate others.
