Two drug peddler arrested, contraband substances recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a police official said that a police team of Police Station Khanyar during routine patrolling in Bishamber Nagar area, intercepted two suspicious persons roaming in the area.

He said that during the search, a substantial quantity of contraband substance was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Imran Ahmad Ganie son of Gh. Mohammed Ganie resident of Naibasti Anantnag and Abid Hamid Nanda son of Ab. Hamid Nanda is a resident of Dagpora Khanbal, Anantnag.

Meanwhile both the drug peddlers have been arrested & a case vide FIR No. 02/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Khanyar and further investigation has been initiated.
