Srinagar Police Launches Anti-Smoking Drive in Lal Chowk, Fines Rs 200 for Public Smoking

Srinagar: Srinagar Police conducted an anti-smoking drive in the Lal Chowk area, imposing a fine of Rs 200 on individuals found smoking in public places.

The drive was conducted by Police station Kothibagh, headed by SHO Monzoor Ahmad.

The drive, aimed at curbing smoking in public spaces, saw officers issuing fines as part of an effort to enforce the ban on smoking in public areas.

The initiative is expected to raise awareness about the health risks associated with smoking and promote a cleaner, healthier environment for residents and visitors alike.

SHO Kothibagh Monzoor Ahmad while Speaking to media persons regarding drive as per news agency JKNS said, smoking is prohibited in public places, we must avoid it.

Manzoor said, it is not good to smoke at public places, and it is harmful also, avoiding it is better option.

Srinagar Police has urged the public to comply with the law and avoid smoking in restricted areas. (JKNS)
