Full-scale preparations underway for Republic Day celebrations in MA Stadium Jammu

Jammu: Preparations for the 76th Republic Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir are in full swing, with M A Stadium in Jammu witnessing extensive rehearsals and security arrangements ahead of the grand event.

News agency KINS reported that at M A Stadium in Jammu, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with other security forces, are showcasing high energy and dedication in their rehearsals for the Republic Day function.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will preside over the main event on January 26, where he will take the salute. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will attend as the chief guest for the occasion.

In Srinagar, preparations are equally fervent, with the district administration focusing on cultural performances, parades, and heightened security. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary will preside over the Republic Day function at Bakshi Stadium and take the salute there.

KINS further reported that security measures have been significantly enhanced across the Jammu and Kashmir, with multiple checkpoints, CCTV surveillance, and increased monitoring along the Line of Control (LoC) to ensure a peaceful and secure Republic Day celebration.

Senior civil and police officers have meticulously reviewed security protocols and logistical arrangements to ensure smooth coordination during the event.

In addition, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued directions for the illumination of government buildings and the hoisting of the national flag across all government offices in the Union Territory. The initiative aims to mark the occasion with grandeur and foster widespread participation in the festivities. Special attention is being paid to tricolor-themed lighting as a symbol of national pride and unity.

The district administrations have been instructed to oversee the decoration and lighting of prominent government buildings, with government employees expected to actively participate in the Republic Day functions within their respective districts. Attendance at these events has been made mandatory to encourage maximum participation and engagement.

The administration has called on citizens to join in the commemorations and reflect on the significance of Republic Day.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, chaired a high-level meeting in Jammu today to review the preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.

KINS reported that the meeting was attended by senior officials from the civil administration, police, and various departments to ensure a seamless and grand observance of the national event.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and coordination among all departments to make the Republic Day celebrations a resounding success. “Republic Day is a matter of national pride. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the event is conducted with the highest level of efficiency and decorum,” he said.

Senior police and security officials briefed the Chief Secretary on the multi-layered security measures being put in place to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.

Arrangements at the main venue were reviewed, including seating plans, stage design, and sound systems.

The Transport Department outlined plans to regulate traffic during the event to ensure smooth movement for participants and the public.
