Suspension of Kathua mineral officer: Govt constitutes inquiry committee

Kathua: The Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed an inquiry committee to investigate charges against Naveen Kumar, the suspended District Mineral Officer of Kathua.
The suspension order was issued through Government Order of 2024, dated December 3, a copy of which lies with the news agency JKNS reads following a communication from the Deputy Chief Minister’s office.
It reads as according to order, issued on January 14, the inquiry committee will comprise the following officials as Dr. Nargis Suraiya, Special Secretary to the Government, Mining Department, Mr. Rayaz Hussain, Director Finance, Mining Department and Dr. Raj Kumar, Deputy Director, Geology and Mining, Jammu.
It also reads, the committee is tasked with conducting a detailed inquiry into the charges and submitting a report with recommendations to the government within 30 days.
Notably, the action underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the administration.—(JKNS)
