Medical camp held for drivers at Pulwama to promote safer roads

Pulwama: As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month 2025, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Pulwama, organized a comprehensive medical camp for drivers to enhance their health and well-being, an essential aspect of ensuring safer roads and responsible driving practices.

The camp witnessed an encouraging response with a large number of drivers actively participating in the health check-up activities. Various essential medical services were provided during the camp, including assessments of physical fitness, eyesight evaluations, blood sugar monitoring and blood pressure examinations.

These services were meticulously carried out to identify any potential health issues that could affect the drivers’ ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently.

Asst. Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Pulwama emphasized the critical role of driver health in promoting road safety and reducing accidents.

Speaking on the occasion, the ARTO stated the health and fitness of drivers are fundamental to ensuring the safety of all road users. A healthy driver is a safe driver and initiatives like these go a long way in preventing accidents and saving lives.

The month-long campaign culminating on January 31 will feature various activities, including awareness drives, workshops and educational programs aimed at instilling responsible road behavior. Special emphasis will be placed on educating drivers, pedestrians and cyclists about the importance of adhering to traffic rules and adopting safe practices.
