Case Registered Against Social Media Page Administrator for Defamation in Doda District

Doda: Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district have filed an FIR against the administrator of an Instagram account, “Bhaderwah Confession Page,” for allegedly sharing defamatory and ‘false’ content about several individuals.
The administrator is accused of spreading “fabricated and malicious” information, significantly impacting the victims’ personal lives.
The police said that the action followed multiple complaints from individuals who claimed their names were used in false narratives shared on the social media page, a police spokesperson reported. The FIR was registered at Bhaderwah police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.
Authorities have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the person responsible for defamation, public mischief, and intimidation.
The police warned that anyone involved in such activities would face strict action. The police also urged the public to avoid engaging with pages that propagate controversies and harm reputations. (CNS)
