Wildlife department Kulgam captures, releases Black Bear safely

Kulgam: The Wildlife Department of Kulgam successfully captured and released a black bear in Shahoo Sachin after the animal was spotted near residential areas for over 15 days, creating concerns among locals, officials said.
An official told the news agency JKNS, the wildlife department had installed a cage to trap the bear after receiving repeated reports of its presence.
He said, following a patient wait, the bear was safely captured and later released into its natural habitat without any injury.
“The operation was led by Imtiyaz Ahmad, Wildlife Incharge of Kulgam, with assistance from Showkat Ahmad and Fayaz Ahmad,” he said.
