Baramulla: Police have arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a Police Official said that a Police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Uri at a checkpoint established at Paranpeelan-Bandi Crossing Uri, intercepted one person who was identified as Mohd Showkat Awan son of Atta Mohammad resident of Dawaran.
During the search, 1.700 kgs of contraband Cannabis Powder like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested.
Meanwhile, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Uri and investigation has been initiated.
