Two Drug Peddlers Arrested, Contraband substances Recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and Contraband substances recovered from their possessions. 

In a Statement issued to Asian Mail, a police official said that during patrolling by a team of PS Bemina on the link road between Bemina and Ibrahim Colony, found vehicle bearing registration number MH02ER/9763 (Etios) parked under suspicious circumstances by the road side.

He said that the two persons on board attempted to flee,but were apprehended tactfully by the police team.

During the search, 7.10 gms of brown sugar-like substance was recovered from their possession. The two persons were identified as  Syed Athar Rafi Son of Syed Rafi Ahmed Resident of Dehraman Soibugh Badgam A/P Usmania Colony Bemina and Waseem Ahmed Rather Son of Mohd Ashraf Rather Resident of Hamdaniya colony Bemina.

Meanwhile, case FIR No 81/24 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in PS Bemina and investigation taken up. Both the accused persons have been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
