“He emphasised his commitment to representing the public interests on this matter, not only in Parliament but also through various forums outside. Mian Altaf stressed the importance of discussing projects under central departments for Jammu and Kashmir’s construction and development. He said that the people of Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency are facing a lot of problems, which need to be addressed on a priority basis. Efforts are being made to resolve issues related to central departments, such as Railways and BRO. A project will be prepared by the Jammu and Kashmir government to promote “adventure” tourism in, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg, and Sinthan Top Tunnel which will be submitted to the central government for approval.

Mian Altaf Ahmed believes that promoting tourism will create new employment opportunities, as many tourists visit the Kashmir Valley for adventure activities. He acknowledged that Parliament is a significant forum, but not every issue can be raised there. However, efforts are being made to discuss issues in all available forums, and progress has been made. Mian Altaf said, “While some issues are being resolved, new ones continue to emerge.” He identified political, economic, unemployment, and inflation problems, which are being addressed. Regarding Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, Mian Altaf said that the Prime Minister and Home Minister have promised to restore it, and the central government has assured the Supreme Court of the same. He hopes that the central government will fulfill its promise, as depriving the public government of its powers is unfair. When asked about his views on past and present politics, Mian Altaf said that there is mostly criticism and public expectations too. He believes that success can be achieved through joint efforts, and as a Member of Parliament, he will play a positive and responsible role in every forum.
