Urs of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) Observed with Great Devotion All Across Kashmir

Srinagar: Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar witnessed an overwheming rush of devotees on Wednesday as they came to pay homage on the occasion of the Urs of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA), one of the closest companions of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“The shrine, which is rich in history and spirituality, was a place of devotion and unity as people from all walks of life from different parts of the region flocked to pay their respects,” the reports reaching the news agency JKNS said.
A local resident from Nawakadal, Bashir Ahmad, shared his sentiments saying, “This is a day that fills my heart with peace and gratitude. Offering prayers here, especially in the presence of the holy relic is a spiritually uplifting experience for me.”
The event celebrated with fervor marks the legacy of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA), who is revered for his unshakable faith, leadership, and unwavering support to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). On this day, devotees remembered his exemplary character and the role he played in the early days of Islam.
“I am lucky to be a part of this congregation. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) is the summary of commitment, which we should all emulate,” said another devotee, Shazia Bano, while attending the religious rituals.
Significantly, the main showstopper of the occasion was the display of the sacred relic, believe to be of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and its appearance had attracted thousands of people who were enthusiastic to see this revered occasion. The air was prayerful and reflective as chanted devotion reverberates in the air.
The Urs is a reminder of the rich Islamic heritage and a call to continue following the path of righteousness laid by Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA).
