J&K BJP defends Amit Shah, calls party ‘True soldiers of Ambedkar’s Constitution’

Congress must apologize for historical blunders: Sunil Sethi

Jammu: In a strong defense of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) chief spokesman Sunil Sethi Thursday said the party is committed to upholding Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s constitutional ideals.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu as per news gathering agency KINS, Sethi declared that every BJP worker is a “true soldier of Ambedkar’s Constitution,” stating the party’s focus on safeguarding democracy, equality and social justice.

Sethi lauded the BJP’s efforts to protect and implement Ambedkar’s vision in modern governance.

He argued that under leaders like Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has taken bold decisions to rectify historical wrongs and ensure the Constitution serves as a foundation for an inclusive and united India.

Sethi launches a scathing attack on the Congress, calling for an apology for what he described as “historical blunders” that weakened India’s socio-political fabric.

Sethi as per KINS criticized the Congress for perpetuating the special status granted to Jammu & Kashmir under Article 370, which he argued isolated the region and hindered its development. He claimed that the BJP’s decision to abrogate Article 370 in 2019 was a historic move to fully integrate Jammu & Kashmir into India, rectify decades of neglect, and fulfill Ambedkar’s vision of equality.

Referring to the Emergency imposed by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Sethi described it as one of the darkest chapters in Indian democracy. He accused the Congress of undermining constitutional principles and stifling dissent, showcasing its disregard for Ambedkar’s ideals of democratic governance.

Sethi alleged that the Congress failed to uplift Dalits and other marginalized communities, despite claiming to champion their cause. He accused Congress of neglecting Ambedkar’s vision of social justice, while asserting that the BJP has worked actively to empower these groups through targeted policies and initiatives.

Sethi pointed to Congress’ policies during its decades-long rule, alleging that they contributed to corruption, economic stagnation, and administrative inefficiency. He contrasted this with the BJP’s governance, which he described as clean, decisive, and focused on long-term growth and development.
