Four gamblers arrested, recovered Stake money and playing cards : Police

Sopore: Sopore Police have arrested four gamblers and recovered stake money and playing cards from their possession.

In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a police official said that the police, on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Tarzoo, police raided the spot. On seeing the police party gamblers tried to flee but were apprehended.

He said that the gamblers were identified as Shareef ud Din Sheikh S/O Abdul Ahmad Sheikh, Mohammad Ismail Sheikh S/O Late Abdul Gani Sheikh, Nasir Ahmad Mir S/O Abdul Rashid Mir and Nisar Ahmad Sheikh S/O Abdul Aziz Sheikh all the residents of Tarzoo.

He further stated that the stake money of Rs 6000 and playing cards were recovered from their possession.

Meanwhile a case under relevant sections of gambling Act stands registered at PS Tarzoo and investigation has been initiated.
