Vehicles with pending challans to face seizure, RC cancellation from next week: Traffic Police Rural Kmr

Srinagar, Dec 10: The Traffic Police Office, Rural Kashmir, on Tuesday urged motorists with pending traffic challans to clear their dues immediately, failing which strict action will be taken.

Motorists are directed to pay the fine amount on the Parivahan platform or virtual court portals or appear before the Lok Adalat benches at the District Court Srinagar by December 14, 2024, an official told news agency — Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Despite repeated appeals through public notices and media channels, a significant number of vehicles with multiple challans continue to operate on roads, a senior traffic cop told KNO.

However, he warned that strict legal action will follow from December 16, 2024, against defaulters, which may include the seizure of vehicles or cancellation of Registration Certificates (RCs).Motorists are advised to act promptly to avoid penalties—(KNO)
