Two Drug Peddlers Arrested, Contraband substances Recovered: Police

Srinagar: Srinagar Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a police official said that a police party of Police Station Maisuma during patrolling at Lal Chowk intercepted two suspicious persons roaming in the area of Multi Level Car Parking Sheikh Bagh Lal Chowk, who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. During search, Charas-like substance wrapped in maize cover sticks and 200 grams of open Charas-like substance concealed in two jute-matting bags were recovered from their possession.

He said that the two persons were identified as  Asif Mehdi Son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Malik Resident of Bay 13 Rakh Arth Bemina and Faisal Haroon Son of Irfan Haroon Resident of Rakh Arth Bemina Srinagar.

Meanwhile a case vide FIR No. 28/2024 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Maisuma and further investigation has been initiated.
