Govt allocates districts to 5 cabinet ministers to improve public services

Surinder Kumar Choudhary gets Jammu; Sakeena gets Srinagar

Srinagar: The five cabinet ministers of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday were allocated 20 districts of the Union Territory for better coordination, effective implementation of developmental programs, closer monitoring of public services, and other related matters of the respective districts.

According to an order, a copy of which is with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), it states that the ministers are hereby allocated the districts, as indicated against each, for ensuring better coordination, effective implementation of developmental programs, closer monitoring of public services, and other related matters of the district(s).

Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister, has been allocated the districts of Jammu, Poonch, Anantnag, and Shopian while Sakeena Masood (Itoo), Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare, has been allocated the districts of Kupwara, Srinagar, Kathua, and Samba.

Javed Ahmed Rana, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, has been allocated the districts of Doda, Rajouri, Pulwama, and Baramulla. Javid Ahmad Dar, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives, and Elections, has been allocated the districts of Ganderbal, Budgam, Kishtwar, and Ramban.

Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, and ARI & Trainings, has been allocated the districts of Reasi, Udhampur, Kulgam, and Bandipora.
