DIPR’s Cultural Unit Kashmir organizes Road Safety Awareness program at HSS Nagam

Budgam: The Cultural Unit Kashmir of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) J&K Monday organized a road safety and traffic awareness program at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School (HSS) Nagam, Chadoora.
The event drew a notable gathering, including dignitaries viz. ARTO Budgam, DySP Traffic Budgam, Cultural Officer Kashmir, District Information Officer Budgam, Principal BHSS Nagam, along with faculty members, students, and senior citizens from the local community.
In his welcome address, Cultural Officer Burhan Hussain underscored the critical importance of road safety, noting that many accidents stem from inexperienced or reckless driving. He pointed out that the Cultural Unit DIPR is actively engaged in a series of awareness programs throughout the valley, aimed at promoting road safety and reducing the incidence of accidents in the region.
The program featured a presentation by ARTO Budgam, who elaborated on the preventative measures implemented by the Motor Vehicle Department, including details about the issuance of licenses to ensure safer driving practices.
DySP Traffic Budgam emphasized the necessity of adhering to traffic rules, particularly among young drivers, and called for collaboration from senior citizens in facilitating this adherence. Collaborative efforts between educational institutions, law enforcement, and community members are essential for fostering a safer and more aware society, he added.

The event included a vibrant thematic skit and musical presentation by the Kashmir Sangeet Academy of Badipora Chadoora. These performances conveyed vital messages about road safety, illustrating the severe repercussions of rash driving and disregard for traffic regulations.
To honor the contributions of those involved, Cultural Unit Kashmir, the event organizers, recognized the dignitaries and participants with tokens of appreciation.
The program concluded on a proactive note with a symbolic gesture—a student rally was flagged off, reaffirming a strong commitment to road safety and responsible citizenship among the youth.
