I am hopeful Delhi will give back what was taken away from us: Minister Satish Sharma

Srinagar: Minister for Food and Transport, Satish Sharma, expressed confidence about the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, reaffirming his faith in Delhi’s commitment to Jammu and Kashmir’s political and developmental aspirations.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar as per news gathering agency KINS, Sharma said, “We have faced immense challenges over the last 30 years. There are developmental delays of over 11 years, but we are determined to bridge these gaps. It’s not easy, but we are fully committed to achieving this goal,” he said.

The minister expressed confidence in Delhi’s promise, stating, “I am a man of hope. I firmly believe Delhi will return what was taken away. Statehood for Jammu and Kashmir is a priority, and I am optimistic it will happen soon”

Sharma also praised the leadership at various levels for their commitment to Jammu and Kashmir. “The Prime Minister wants to empower the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Lieutenant Governor is positive and understands the situation here. I believe the coordination between the LG and the government will remain strong,” he said.

Highlighting unity among legislators, he added, “All 90 MLAs are like a family. We are united in our efforts to work for the people and will continue to do our best to serve them.”

Sharma also spoke about upcoming benefits for residents, including double rations and 12 LPG cylinders annually as a New Year’s gift.

“We want a strong Jammu and Kashmir, which will make for a stronger nation. Together, we will bring positive change,” he added.
