Foreign militants use minimum communication which is a challenge for us: IG BSF

Srinagar: The IG of the Border Security Force (BSF) Ashok Yadav on Saturday expressed concern over the increasing attempts by militants to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir, stating that foreign militants pose a significant challenge for security establishments.

Discussing the current security scenario, the IG highlighted the rise in infiltration attempts ahead of the winter season.

“We are meticulously planning operations with the army to dominate vulnerable gaps before snowfall. Intelligence inputs indicate that individuals are still stationed at launching pads, attempting to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. However, our enhanced strategies and strong presence along the LoC give us confidence in thwarting such efforts,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function here, as reported by news agency KINS.

The IG also addressed the changing tactics of militants, noting a decline in local recruitment but an increase in the involvement of foreign operatives.

“Foreign militants are becoming a significant concern. They have strengthened their security protocols and communicate minimally, which presents challenges. However, with collaboration among security and intelligence agencies, we are continuously adapting our strategies to counter these threats,” he stated.

He further said that the BSF, in coordination with intelligence agencies, is actively working to identify and dismantle militant hideouts and networks of supporters.

“We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of our borders and citizens,” the IG concluded.
